Yolo County is committed to employee engagement – creating an environment in which employees feel a true sense of passion, purpose, belonging, and commitment to their jobs and their organization. As such, in 2014, a workgroup, now known as the YES Team - Yolo Encourages Success throughTalent Engagement, Assistance & Motivation, was formed to focus on talent development which is a key component of employee engagement. The Team’s purpose is to seek best practices and develop programs, resources, and opportunities to promote continuous learning and development of the County workforce in order to further grow employee engagement. To advance this purpose, these webpages (see navigation above) have been developed, containing resources and tools for current and future employees.
Since inception, the YES Team has developed and supported many initiatives benefiting Yolo County's workforce, including a mentoring program, core competencies, a training needs assessment, employee engagement teams, and more. Following the Team's evaluation of the County's 2016 Employee Engagement Survey results, the five objectives areas listed below have been identified as the Team’s focus in the coming years. The YES Team was honored to receive the 2017 Western Region IPMA-HR Award of Excellence for a medium-sized agency. YES was recognized for their efforts in employee engagement and talent development programs, following a nomination by Brody Lorda, HHSA's Human Resources Manager.
