Programs at the Winters Community Library in January

(Woodland, CA) – The following special programs will be held during the month of January at Yolo County’s Winters Community Library, located at 708 Railroad Avenue in Winters:

• January 5: ‘Til Debt Do Us Part, 5:00 p.m. Join us and the Winters Hispanic Advisory Committee for a two hour money-management workshop to introduce you to strategies to improve your financial situation. Workshop is led by Ramon Altamirano from the Hispanic Advisory Committee.
• January 18: From Fact to Fiction: Creating Story from Real Events, 6:30 p.m. Have you ever read a gripping news story or had a special experience and thought, “This would make a great novel”? Join us for a hands-on workshop to guide you on your creative path from real events to fiction. Anne Da Vigo, author of the new thriller Thread of Gold, will show you how to use actual people, events, and settings and craft them into a fictional work. Paper and pens for a writing exercise will be provided.

The following ongoing programs continue in January:

• SUCCESS: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:00 p.m.
• Tales for Tails: Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m.
• Needle Arts: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 4:00 p.m.
• Libros y Chisme: 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
• Family Story Time: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
• Literary Trails: Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m.
• Hora de Cuentas/Bi-lingual Story Time: Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by First 5 Yolo.
• Aguas Frescas: Last Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
• Lego Block Party: 2nd Saturday of the month at 2:00 p.m.
• Family Movie: Last Saturday of the month at 2:00 p.m.

NOTICES: The Yolo County Library’s branches will be closed on January 1 for New Year’s Day and on January 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On January 22 all branches will be open from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Winters Community Library will be on the School Break schedule through January 7 with the following hours:

• Monday and Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday: Closed.

Extended Hours resume Monday, January 8, 2018 as follows:

• Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Saturday: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday: Closed
